United Muslim is a Muslim youth symposium program that focuses on peace and sustainability in the world, especially in Islamic countries/OIC members. This program
providing a platform for inspiring and impactful Muslim youth to develop through training, discussion and exchange of ideas, insights and experiences.Background Currently, the situation in Gaza, Palestine, is very worrying with the continuing humanitarian crisis. The conflict between Israel and Palestine, which has lasted for more than a century, has now entered a more intense phase since October 2023. The impact of this conflict is very tragic, with reports that thousands of Palestinians, including women and children, have become victims of genocide. Another crisis that is no less important is climate change, the impacts of which are felt throughout the world. This climate change can threaten food security and increase the risk of natural disasters. Efforts have been made to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and divert environmentally friendly energy. In the midst of this challenging situation, Muslim youth have a big role to play in becoming agents of positive change. With enthusiasm, idealism and determination, Muslim youth can contribute to various fields such as peace, social, economic and environmental matters. To realize their potential, Muslim youth must be actively involved in various activities, such as exchange of insights, congresses, and collaboration between Muslim youth. By working together and supporting each other, they can become a powerful force for positive change in the world. Muslim youth have great potential to bring positive change because they have a large population: 27.2% of the total Muslim population in the world are gen Z, have a strong vision and desire to make the world a better place, and are adept at utilizing technology to spread positive messages, organizing collective action, and collaborating massively. With the unique potential and characteristics that Muslim youth possess, they can play an important role in building a better future for everyone, especially in peace and sustainability.Objectives United Muslims’ goal is to build future leaders committed to peace and sustainability through the following activities:
